Silk Fence’s debut album was launched lower than every week in the past they usually obtained to have a good time by taking part in a 3 present run with Horse Lords and we had been fortunate sufficient to catch one!
Silk Fence is a venture that fuses minimalism, jazz, kosmische repetition right into a tightly coherent package deal of electroacoustic instrumentals. I’d been listening to the album whereas working all through the week and sometimes discovered myself misplaced within the textures of sounds and floating blissfully by way of a number of relistens. It makes the passage of time appear inconsequential.
A trio consisting of Arian Shafiee (Guerilla Toss), Booker Stardrum (SML), and Justin Frye (PC Worship) Silk Fence are previous associates discovering new methods to discover sound. Throughout the 30+ minute set they performed by way of their complete new self titled album. I discovered a private connection to the album’s closing monitor “Statue of Liberty” so I used to be actually excited to see that shut out the set with a ten minute march in the direction of bliss.
Sadly, Silk Fence doesn’t have any extra dates lined up so for now, you’ll get pleasure from this recording as a style of what’s to return. I recorded this from the standard spot within the again with Scheops MK22’s and a very nice board feed from Tubby’s ace FOH engineer, Wil. Additionally, shout out to Reed Jackson for coining the time period “Tubby’s Core” which obtained some good laughs from the employees whereas chatting previous to the present.
