Music at Paxton, the competition based mostly at Paxton Home within the Borders, has appointed Fibonacci Quartet as its new Affiliate Ensemble for 2027-2029.
Music at Paxton’s artist director, Angus Smith, stated: “We at all times have one eye on the longer term, and are massively excited to welcome the exceptionally gifted younger members of Fibonacci Quartet – Kryštof Kohout, violin; Luna De Mol, violin; Elliot Kempton, viola; Findlay Spence, cello – to be our Affiliate Ensemble from 2027-29. Watching and listening to those sensible musicians is a really thrilling and uplifting expertise and they’re already wanting ahead to enjoying at Music at Paxton, and sharing their music with individuals of all ages within the Border neighborhood.”
Fashioned on the Guildhall Faculty of Music and Drama, the quartet have been winners on the 2024 Younger Classical Artists Belief (YCAT) Worldwide auditions and have been not too long ago appointed as Grand Résident ensemble at ProQuartet in Paris for seasons 2025-2027. Music at Paxton goals to carry top quality music to the Japanese Scottish Borders, an space not at present nicely served with classical music. The competition is dedicated to breaking down limitations and encourages younger individuals to attend by beneficiant concessions and free occasions.
